Safeguarding

The governing body of St Paul’s CofE Primary School takes its responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children seriously; and to work together to support those children who are suffering harm.  We aim to provide an environment in which children and young people feel safe, secure, valued and respected, feel confident and know how to approach adults if they are in difficulties, believing they will be effectively listened to.

The Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL) is Miss J Harrington (Headteacher)

The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leaders (DDSL) are: Mrs D Nairn (Pastoral Lead) and Miss M Emmett (Deputy Headteacher)

The nominated Governor for Safeguarding & Child Protection is: Mrs A Rogowski (Chair of Governors)

All members of staff and volunteers are provided with child protection awareness information and training.  All staff are aware of their duty to raise concerns and must follow the school’s Safeguarding Policy.

If you have any concerns about safeguarding, whether it be for a child or a member of staff then please do speak to a member of the safeguarding team.

Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.

Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school staff, known as a Key Adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, whilst ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident.

We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our pupils and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
