A huge welcome to Year 4JA/SC as 2024/2025 will be an exciting, busy and rewarding year!

In Year 4 there are some great Science topics that children love, such as food chains, electricity and sound.  Engaging and fun History and Geography topics are also taught.  Invaders and Settlers fire the imagination of children through History lessons and a study of rain forests supports our Geography work.

We aim to ensure children know and understand particular key skills in Maths, Reading and Writing.  Apostrophes, commas, times tables and key spellings are some of the things Year 4 children are expected to use with accuracy. Furthermore, children undertake an assessment in their times tables.

An important aspect of Year 4 is children increasing their independence in and confidence in what they can achieve.  Children are encouraged to think about their own learning.  They will make decisions on how to present their work and how to learn best.
